Meet The Team
Erin Johnson
Creative Director & Partner
With a rich background in cinematography, filmmaking, motion graphics, photography and post-production, Erin is a creative force at Room3. Her concepts go hand-in-hand with Room3’s storytelling ethos; enabling people to share their stories with dignity, zest and creativity. She joined Room3 to work alongside humanitarian organisations and NGOs and share important stories. She has filmed all over the world capturing stories from Bangladesh to Sierra Leone, earning her humanitarian accolades including the ARPA Gold “Most Original Campaign” Award and six PromaxBDA Awards.
AJ Clifford
Producer/Director & Partner
AJ established Room3 in 2003 after identifying a need for expertise in film production in the humanitarian sector. Since then, he has filmed in over 30 countries; directing, producing and editing untold stories in an engaging and creative way. Partnering with some of the world’s biggest changemakers, he has helped shape the way people view and respond to real-world issues. He’s been caught in monsoonal floods in Bangladesh covering the effects of climate change, had films screened at HRAFF, and won an award at the UNISDR Asia Disaster Risk Reduction Film Festival for the End the Cycle campaign.
Lara Shearer
Creative Producer and Studio Manager
Lara joined the Room3 team to amplify unheard voices and tell stories that inspire people to participate in the conversation. An experienced journalist and producer across print, radio and film, Lara is equipped with an adaptable and versatile skillset. This sees her seamlessly navigate client and talent liaising, scripting and video and podcast editing. On set, she conducts herself with empathy and compassion, ensuring talent feel safe, heard and respected. Lara is an integral part of Room3's mission to make a positive impact through film and animation.
The Room3 team have decades of combined experience working with vulnerable and marginalised communities from different cultures, backgrounds, ethnicities and abilities. All staff have a current Working with Children Check and Police Check. They have completed the Introduction ACFID Safeguarding course and Suicide Prevention Training; QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer).
